Often, I wake in the early hours of the morning with mild anxiety. My mind wakes me, worried, sometimes about work, often about the state of life.

To combat this, I pray. Sometimes I pray “I am the peace that passes understanding” and sometimes I just whisper ‘thank you’ to Creator and other Angels.

Perhaps influenced by the blanket of snow surrounding us, this morning my spirit nudged me to pray for justice. Justice with mercy and grace.

I’m a big fan of the Egyptian Goddess Maat. Goddess of integrity, fairness and justice. She who weighs your soul against the weight of a feather before you enter eternity. She who imparts mercy and grace in her judgments.

We could use a bit of that energy, I think. We have wrongs to be righted lingering in our physical and spiritual worlds.

So today, as the snow continues to fall and bless the earth with quiet and beauty, may we move mercifully and gracefully towards justice.
