Wondering how long those of us who care about our country can continue to walk into our places of employment and be expected to behave as if nothing is going on.

Not checking email or other online sources of news doesn’t ameliorate the stress and anxiety. In fact, it may make it worse, because we now live in a time where we know that atrocities are being launched like t-shirts at a sports event.

How can I come in to work and do the best job for my colleagues and employer knowing that the National Guard troops will potentially be deployed to “round up” and detain our immigrant neighbors and friends? It is when you don’t look, when you stop looking, that people disappear. History tells us that. How can we pretend that it’s not happening?

That level of compartmentalization is on the brink of mental instability. Cognitive dissonance and loss of contact with reality are two consequences that come to mind. How can employers pretend that this impact on their work force is not to be addressed?

Stated plainly, I think we need for CEOs and board members to stand up and say enough! This bullshit is disrupting our society in devastating ways that will not be easily recovered.
