This is how old I am as of today.

This number is auspicious. It’s the age when people check in with their souls and either decide to stick around on the planet, or check out.

funnily, I have been “checking in” with my soul over the last couple of months….questioning whether or not it was time to leave. Not in a suicidal way. Not at all. I don’t know if many people will understand the feeling of that.

I want the next year to be more about love than any other year I’ve lived in this planet. Fierce love. The kind that sprouts even when it’s hard to express and give. That’s the deepest love.

I also want the next year to be about forgiveness. Comprehensive. Compassionate. Commanding. Let’s admit our faults and be forgiven them. Let’s promise to accept course correction with humility.

Let us commit to the path of becoming real human beings and loving the world that has been given to us

Let us see the eagles flying, even when we can’t see them with our eyes. Let’s remember that their lives are full and rich whether we can observe them or not. Let’s hold them in our spirits and promise to keep them safe with every ounce of our being.

And let’s do the same for the water. For the salmon. For the coyote, fox and wolf.

Let’s commit to stopping the destruction of our relatives the trees, and the culture they possess and support.

Let’s give honor to every living being.

Being on this planet is not an accident. I am grateful for another year.
